The Atlantic, October 2009 issue, has a letter written to President Bush by Andrew Sullivan that suggests a method of bringing some aspect of an honorable solution to the torture policies of his administration. The dishonor brought upon this country by these abhorrent practices cannot be healed so easily, but it would tend to be a balm for the moral and ethical laws set forth in the Constitution that have been transgressed. Correct actions and time will be the only proof to the world that America stands for ethical and moral liberty, but this suggested action for Bush recognizing his own war crimes would help in these efforts.

No patriot can allow these illegal actions to be shoved into the dust bin of history without making known to the world that we do not accept any explanation that makes these actions correct or legal. Only recognizing the dishonor it has brought upon this country will help to right this wrong.

I do not seek prosecution of President Bush or his cronies. History will exact it’s own retribution. Our country is not ready to bring the guilty to justice, but hopefully the majority will recognize the need for reform and a return to constitutional principles.
